‘Match Play’ – Alverstoke, Hampshire (23/06/18)

This afternoon, Alexander competed in two matches, at Alverstoke.

Alexander’s first experience at this tennis club, participating in ‘match play’.

His first opponent he had beaten last year, and gelled very well in a ‘double’s’ partnership. That was last year, and today it was apparent, that the comradery was over, and this opponent had a ‘score to settle’,  towards Alexander. Alverstoke was this boy’s tennis club!!

From the very first moment, the opponent couldn’t even address Alexander in a civil manner. Bearing in mind, Alexander had been invited to this boy’s Birthday Party last year, and the invitation had been reciprocated!! So, we were not anticipating such a scornful and sour atmosphere!!

We had practiced earlier, and as Alexander’s serve has been going through a transition, he had been serving the ball, to the net!! He just needs to throw the ball higher, and once he sorts his serve out, and gets the first serve ‘in’, his game will be even better.
